Grace and peace to you!
It is with a full and grateful heart that I warmly welcome you to the Alpha Living Centre website.
We are truly honored that you have taken the time to visit and consider walking this journey of faith alongside us.
Your presence is a gift, and we thank God for leading you here.
As we grow together in Christ, we believe it is important to be “of one mind” (Philippians 2:2), grounded in
the truths that guide and shape our ministry.
Why This Matters
This is more than a list of doctrines—it is the anchor for our souls. It reflects who we are and what we stand for:
-
Our Foundation: What we believe about God, Scripture, and salvation
-
Our Mission: How these truths move us to love our neighbors and serve our community
-
Our Unity: The shared convictions that keep us moving forward together in harmony
I encourage you to explore our site prayerfully. If something sparks a question, or if you would like to go deeper
in conversation, my door is always open. We are all students of the Word, and I would be delighted to connect
with you— perhaps over a cup of coffee—to share in these meaningful truths together.
Faithfully,
Pastor Damian Devonish

Jesus is the foundation of all we do. We seek to glorify Him in our marriages, families, and daily lives.
(Colossians 1:17-18; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
Biblical Truth
God’s Word is our guide for faith, relationships, and practical living. We teach, live, and apply Scripture faithfully.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105)
Marriage & Family Restoration
We believe God’s design for marriage and family brings healing, strength, and joy. We are committed to strengthening homes through biblical counsel, discipleship, and practical support.
(Malachi 4:6; Isaiah 61:1-4; Proverbs 24:3-5)
Discipleship & Spiritual Growth
We nurture Believers in their walk with Christ, equipping them to lead their families in faith and to disciple others.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 2:6-7; 2 Timothy 2:2)
Authentic Community
We foster a culture of love, grace, and accountability, where individuals and families grow together in Christ.
(Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:10; Galatians 6:2)
Prayer & Dependence on God
We seek God’s wisdom, power, and direction in all we do, believing that prayer is essential for personal and family transformation.
(Philippians 4:6-7; James 1:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Outreach & Generational Impact
We actively share the Gospel, serve our community, and invest in the next generation, ensuring a legacy of faith that endures.

our
statement of faith
As servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, we affirm our faith in the triune God as revealed in Scripture, embracing the rich heritage of Reformed theology.
Our belief is rooted in the unchanging Word of God and shaped by the central doctrines of grace, sovereignty, and the glory of God in all things.
The following statements reflect our core convictions as disciples of Christ.
1. Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, Scripture reveals God’s character, His redemptive plan, and the life He calls us to live.
2. God
We affirm the existence of one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This triune God is sovereign over all creation, ruling with perfect wisdom, justice, and love (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19). Everything exists for His glory and according to His divine purpose.
3. Humanity and Sin
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), designed to enjoy fellowship with Him and steward His creation. However, through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, and all people are now born in a state of total depravity, unable to save themselves apart from divine grace (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
4. Jesus Christ
We affirm that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and accomplished redemption through His substitutionary death on the cross (John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21). His resurrection secures victory over sin and death, providing the basis for the justification of sinners (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
5. Salvation
We hold firmly to the doctrines of grace: salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). God elects, calls, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies His people according to His sovereign will (Romans 8:29-30). Good works are the fruit of saving faith and evidence of a transformed life (James 2:26).
6. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit’s active presence in the world, convicting of sin, regenerating hearts, and guiding believers into all truth (John 16:7-13). The Spirit empowers the Church for mission and ministry, producing fruit and bestowing gifts for the edification of the body of Christ (Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:7).
7. The Church
We affirm that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers across time and space (Ephesians 1:22-23). The local church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and the proclamation of the gospel (Acts 2:42-47). We uphold the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as means of grace, given by Christ to strengthen the faith of His people.
8. The Return of Christ
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom (Acts 1:11; Revelation 21:1-4). The hope of Christ’s return inspires believers to live in holiness, eagerly anticipating the fulfillment of God’s promises.
9. Ordinances
We believe that there are only two ordinances for the church regularly observed in the New Testament in the following order: Baptism, which is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby he obeys Christ's command and sets forth his identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–4). The Lord's Supper, which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of the two elements, bread and wine, which symbolize the Lord's body and shed blood, proclaiming His death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Matthew 26:26–28).
10. The Church and State
We believe in the entire separation of church and state - each being distinct and sovereign in its own realm - ordained by God to fulfill different purposes. The state is not to control the church, nor is the church to rely
upon or be entangled with the power of the state in the carrying out of its mission (Matthew 22:21; John 18:36; Romans 13:1–7; 1 Timothy 2:1–2).
11. Religious Liberty
We believe in religious liberty; that every person has the God-given right to practice and propagate his beliefs according to the dictates of conscience, without coercion or interference from civil authorities, so long as it does not violate the rights of others, or the moral order established by God (Matthew 22:21; Acts 4:19–20; Acts 5:29).
12. The Lord’s Day
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day and that, in a unique sense, it is the divinely appointed day for worship and spiritual exercise (Acts 20:7; John 20:19; Revelation 1:10).
13. Civil Government
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed, except only in the things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the kings of the earth (Romans 13:1–7; 1 Timothy 2:1–2; Titus 3:1).
14. The Glory of God
Above all, we affirm that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever (Psalm 16:11; 1 Corinthians 10:31). All of life is to be lived under the lordship of Christ, with the ultimate purpose of exalting His name and advancing His kingdom.
Conclusion
These statements reflect our theological convictions as Believers in Christ Jesus. As Believers of the Gospel, we are committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word, fellowshipping with Him as His people, and laboring for His glory in all that we do. Soli Deo Gloria - To God alone be the glory.
